We are seeking a committed and experienced Healthcare Assistant who is passionate about providing personalised care and skilled in seizure management, to support our young service user.
Benefits of joining our team include competitive pay rates, confirmed rotas, and full clinical training. Whether you have experience in complex care or are eager to learn, we want to hear from you!
Our service user is a happy young boy who lives with his loving mom and sister at their family home in West Bromwich. He requires the support of a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to manage his complex medical needs, during school hours.
He loves sensory lights and toys, messy play such as foam, sand, and painting, and he also enjoys music, especially the saxophone. He is unable to communicate verbally and will make his needs known via sounds to alert attention. It is important that you learn to understand his cues to ensure his needs are met promptly and effectively. He also has the use of a wheelchair to aid his mobility as he is unable to mobilise independently.
Your role? To accompany him to school and collaborate closely with his teachers to create a supportive and nurturing environment where he can fully participate in his education, whilst ensuring that his complex needs are effectively met.
You will oversee his personal care needs, administer medication, assist with PEG feeding, ensure safe moving and positioning and manage seizures, always ensuring his safety and well-being. This isn't just a job – it's a chance to have a significant impact on a person's life.
