• Location: Handsworth, B21
• Pay Rate: £14.00 - £15.00 Per hour
• Shifts: Part Time | Days (9am – 9pm) | Part Time Nights (9pm – 9am)

The Role

We are seeking compassionate and experienced Healthcare Assistants to provide dedicated 1:1 night-time support for a gentleman in his 50s, living at home with his family.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is calm, patient, and reliable, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

You will be confident working to structured care plans while always promoting dignity, comfort, and independence.

The gentleman lives with a spinal cord injury and requires support throughout the night with a range of clinical and personal care needs, including repositioning, respiratory support, and continuous monitoring to ensure his safety and wellbeing.

Outside of his care needs, he enjoys a relaxed home life and meaningful routines. He has a strong passion for music, having previously worked as a DJ, and enjoys watching TV particularly superhero films. Spending time with his family is very important to him.

He also has cats in the home, so comfort around pets is essential.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference, supporting him to remain comfortable, safe, and engaged in the things he enjoys most within his own home.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality personal care with dignity and respect
• Supporting complex clinical needs, including:
• Repositioning
• Respiratory support
• Continuous monitoring throughout the night
• Catheter care
• Bowel management
• Ventilation management
• Assisting with moving and handling
• Monitoring and responding to changes in condition
• Supporting comfort, safety, and wellbeing overnight
• Working collaboratively with family members and professionals

  What We’re Looking For

• A minimum of 3 months care experience
• Confidence in medication administration, personal care, and moving & handling
• Experience supporting individuals with complex care needs (desirable)
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Comfort working in a pet-friendly environment (cats in the home)
