Pay: £14.00 - £17.00

Shifts: Part Time | Days | Term Time Only | Monday to Thursday: 9:00am – 4:00pm | Friday: 9:30am – 12:30pm

About This Role

We are looking for a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to support a 5-year-old boy who lives at home with his family in Gateshead.

He is a happy, cheerful child who loves music and enjoys playing with toys that make a variety of sounds. He is especially captivated by his bubble tube, which provides comfort and stimulation throughout his day.

As his dedicated Healthcare Assistant, you will provide full support with his personal care, daily living activities, and clinical needs, ensuring he remains safe, comfortable, and well supported at all times.

This role is primarily school-based support. You will start the day at his family home, accompany him safely to school, and provide consistent, attentive care throughout the school day, ensuring all of his needs are met and he is fully supported.

Clinical Experience

Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex healthcare needs is essential.

Where required, specialist clinical training will be provided by our highly skilled, in house nursing team.

The specific clinical competencies required for our client are:

• Seizure management
• Oxygen therapy management
• Airvo overnight humidifier.
• Dystonia which needs careful moving & handling, positioning and postural support.
• NJ feeding management (Naso-jejunal)
• Medication administration and management

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must:

• Have a minimum of 3 months' paid experience working in a professional care setting within the UK.
• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Be committed to delivering safe, compassionate and child-centred care.
• Be willing to complete client-specific, clinical training where required.
• Experience with working with complex needs with children is essential.
