Nursery Nurse Location: Leek, ST13 Pay Rate: £16.00 to £18.00 per hour Shifts: Part Time Days | Monday – Sunday | 2pm – 9pm & 10am - 7pm

Meet Our Client

Are you an experienced Nursery Nurse looking for a rewarding opportunity where you can use your childcare skills to make a real difference?

We're looking for a caring, patient, and enthusiastic Nursery Nurse to provide one-to-one support for a fun and engaging 9-year-old boy with complex care needs in his family home.

He loves spending time with others and enjoys using his iPad, listening to music, playing games, and watching YouTube. Although he's non-verbal, he communicates using a Smart box and thrives on interaction, play, and sensory activities.

He benefits from consistent engagement throughout the day, so we're looking for someone who is creative, energetic, and happy to get involved in his favourite activities while supporting his development, communication, and independence.

Your role will include:

• Supporting play, learning, and sensory activities.
• Encouraging communication using his Smart box.
• Promoting independence and emotional wellbeing.
• Providing personal care.
• Supporting therapy sessions and hydrotherapy appointments.
• Assisting with clinical care, including PEG feeding, medication administration, and seizure management (full clinical training will be provided).

What You'll Need

To be successful in this role, you'll have previous experience as a Nursery Nurse or in a similar childcare role, ideally supporting children with SEN, disabilities, or additional needs. We're looking for someone who is:

• Caring, patient, and reliable.
• Confident supporting children in a one-to-one setting.
• Creative, engaging, and able to build positive relationships.
• Passionate about helping children achieve their full potential.
• Keen to develop new clinical skills within a specialist complex care role.

No previous clinical experience is required. We provide a comprehensive clinical training programme, including:

• Tracheostomy care
• Ventilation management
• Gastrostomy (PEG) care
• Personal care
• Moving and handling
• Medication administration
• Seizure management

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Nursery Nurse to build on their existing childcare experience, develop specialist clinical skills, and make a lasting difference to the life of a child with complex care needs.
