1:1 care Female only! No 20 hour visa due to needing extra shifts covering throughout the week- could potentially change when we have enough shifts British Preferred- clear communication is essential- any queries please contact the office Prefers carers age 35 or under. Would like some care experience i.e personal care, etc. They do not need to drive as they live on a bus route.

Clinical Needs In December 2014 post a feed Manya suffered a respiratory and then a cardiac arrest which resulted in severe hypoxic ischaemic injury ( Type of Brain Dysfunction) She has a tracheostomy and is ventilated 24hrs a day. It is thought she requires long term ventilation. Also requires regular suctioning throughout the day. Fed via a gastrostomy. Manya has been diagnosed with nemaline rod myopathy (a group of conditions which fall under the umbrella of congenital myopathies. They are characterised by rod-like structures in the muscle cells, and clinical features such as muscle weakness, breathing problems, and feeding problems) She is immobile and requires a position change every 2 to 3 hrs day and night and requires physiotherapy 3 times a day. She can move her head slightly to the left and right and wiggle her fingers. Regular observation of Manya's skin especially around her tracheostomy and gastrostomy sites is important as it can mark and breakdown easily. Manya has no verbal communication and due to her muscle weakness, she has very little facial expressions. Her eyes are very expressive, and she can at times indicate what she wants by using her eyes. She moves her eyes purposefully to movement and sound. Manya's parents and people caring for her think she has some understanding of what is being said. Since 2019 Manya has been experiencing seizures and has prescribed medication. Manya has a clearway cough assist which is used twice daily, and she is also prescribed nebulisers which again are given twice a day.

Home Environment Lives with Parents

Hobbies, Interests/Other She is home schooled. Enjoys Disney and Cbeebies.
She uses eye gaze technology to communicate and requires familiar cares who can interpret her needs. Staff to be bubbly and engaging in activities with MR. She enjoys reading, singing.
