About This Role

We are looking for caring and compassionate Healthcare Assistants to support a lovely young boy with autism, who is non-verbal and has epilepsy. The role will be after school and will involve spending time with him, supporting him with play and activities that he enjoys, and helping him have positive and enjoyable experiences both at home and out in the community.

We are looking for someone who is patient, gentle and genuinely enjoys working with children, and who can take the time to get to know him, understand his needs and build a trusting relationship with him.

As part of the role, you will also support him with his personal care and continence needs, always ensuring he is treated with dignity, respect and kindness. You will be supported to understand his individual needs and epilepsy care plan, and the focus will be on providing him with safe, consistent and engaging support.

Clinical Experience

Previous experience supporting children with complex healthcare needs is desirable.

Where required, specialist clinical training will be provided by our highly skilled, in house nursing team.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must:

• Have a minimum of 3 months' paid experience working in a professional care setting within the UK.
• Have the right to work in the UK*
• Be committed to delivering safe, compassionate and child-centred care.
• Be willing to complete client-specific, clinical training where required.
• Full UK driving licence.
